Chervone
The settlement of Chervone has been mentioned in guidebooks only recently, though its official history began in 1624, when it was founded by the noble family of Tyshkevich. Later it belonged by turns to the families of Zavyschi, Lesnitski, and from the 18 th century, to Grokholski. The remains of the neo-Gothic palace the building of which was begun by Adolf Grokholski, may become a real discovery for a traveler. Today the settlement is well known due to the local sugar-refinery the first proprietor of which was Fedir Tereschenko. An active member of Kyiv aeronautics society, F.Tereschenko in 1909, in a co-authorship with a designer, built the first airplane. Next to the palace one can notice the remains of the aircraft workshops organized by F.Tereschenko during World War I. In 1914 here was arranged a special train-workshop for repairing airplanes. Now part of the palace is occupied by a convent.
