Sevastopol highway makes further for the south, across the Laspinsk Pass, where there is a wonderful lookout platform and a miniature chapel. A few kilometers ahead there is a road turning right to Foros. But first let us ascend the mountains, towards the Ascension Church (arch. M.Chagin) located on the Red Rock. The temple was built in 1892 on demand of the industrialist A. Kuznetsov in memory of the miraculous rescue of the Russian emperor Alexander II in a rail disaster. A few minutes more and we get to Baidarsky Pass with the massive structure of Baidarsky Gate (1884, arch. K. Eshliman). From the pass the settlement of Foros is clearly visible. The resort township is known for a number of villas and the wonderful Resort Park.
