Kosmach. Among architectural monuments special note should be made of the Church of SS. Peter and Paul (1905). It was in Kosmach that the leader of the Carpathian opryshky Oleksa Dovbush perished in 1745. A memoria sign has been erected there and museum is functioning (1 Dovbush St). In 1924-1934 the well-known Ukrainian artist Oleksa Novakivsky conducted summer secions for his pupils in the village. Kosmach is famous for folk crafts such as embroidery, weaving, beading, painted Easter eggs, artistic products of cheese… Iryna Vilde, A. Kos-Anatolsky, О Bilash, and V. Ivasiuk paid visits to the village. During World War II it was an important strong point of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army in the Carpathians.
